The Young and Younger team hosts an annual Toys for Tots drive and collects toys to donate to children who need hope and support during the holidays.

Every year, thousands of Marines, their families, and local communities work together to spread holiday cheer to children in need through the Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots Program.

The organization was founded in 1947 when Marine Corps Reserve Major (Maj) Bill Hendricks was asked by his wife to deliver handcrafted dolls that she made to an agency that helped children in need. When they could not find any organization, they decided to create one. Within the first year, they donated 5,000 toys to children in need all over Los Angeles, California.

For over 70 years, every Marine Corps Reserve unit in the Marine Corps has led an annual Toys for Tots donation drive for their local community. There are 830 local Toys for Tots campaigns across the United States; however, there aren’t enough Marines to cover all the communities in need, so the program heavily relies on its volunteers.

A few years ago, my dad, Scott Young, and I, Brad, with the Young and Younger Team, decided to become local community organizers for Toys for Tots and volunteer to help collect, sort, and distribute toys.

The Young and Younger team now hosts an annual Toys for Tots drive and collects toys to donate to children who need hope and support during the holidays.

On Dec. 17, we asked the local community to consider bringing any new/unwrapped toys, books, games, or other gifts to our office.

Each year, my dad and I are overwhelmed by the abundance of donations we receive for these children. This is all possible thanks to the generosity of our gracious community members who continue giving—even during difficult times. We love this community and the people who live in it, thank you for your continued support.
